Pat Mesiti-Miller is the founder and lead at Sound Sanctuary.
Pat was obsessed with sound and music for as long as he remember hearing things and got his start deejaying on old stereo equipment and singing to a bugs bunny microphone. He is a student of hip hop, producing solo and collaborative works that have been streamed millions of times. An Artist at heart, a technician by trade.

On what began as a side quest into radio, Pat soon found him in his life’s work of crafting stories and empowering others to speak for themselves. In the early years of his career in podcasting, he was recognized as an influential voice in narrative audio, producing award winning work for the NPR show Snap Judgment, where he his musical style of storytelling received both national and international awards. In 2015, Pat was featured in the graphic novel Out on the Wire: The Storytelling Secrets of the New Masters of Radio. In 2016 he began volunteering inside San Quentin State Prison to help produce the podcast Ear Hustle, where he worked as a Sound Designer, Educator, and Producer being recognized with Pulitzer and Peabody nominations as well as the 2021 duPont-Columbia Award for Excellence in Journalism. Throughout his career, Pat has made central his commitment to empowering others and bridging resources and education to the people, teaching in Prisons, GrassRoots Orgs, and Universities alike.

In 2020 he expanded his work to audio post production for film, working on award-winning documentaries that focus on stories of incarceration, abolition, and liberation movements.

From studio production to live sound to skillsharing workshops, Pat loves to share his gift of impactful storytelling through immersive sound design to help our collective stories shine.
